| A reproduction of a basalt block measuring 4 meters in diameter and weighing 24 tones, which was discovered in the place that was once the center of the Aztec Tenochtitlan city , that now is The Zocalo Square from Mexico City. It contains numerous symbolic images that are placed round the central figure belonging to Tonatiuh, the 5th Sun, the master of temporal cycles. In the left and in the right sides of the central figure, there are hands drawn; each one tightening a human heart – the sacrifice symbol, without which the solar trajectory can not be pursued. Each of the four inner figures represents the date when the previous Sun (the age of mankind) was destroyed. In the quadrate from the top, it is represented the day called „Red 13” – the day when the 5th Sun came into being. The next circle contains 20 hieroglyphs which represent the gods’ names. On the next circle, there are placed the 8 sharp rays. The exterior circle is made of two snakes that are meeting face to face – symbolizing the contraries, the dual aspect of the world. The calendar is also known as „The Goblet of the Eagle” or as „The Stone of the 5th Sun”. The original is exhibited at the National Anthropology Museum from Mexico City. Approximately 750 AD. Size: diam. 10 cm
